Zach, first double check ALL your fuses and make sure ALL your fuses are good. You can do this by using an Automotive Fuse Tester and making sure all of your fuses are not blown. If all of your fuses are in working order, your 2003 Chevrolet Silverado may have a factory amp that needs to be turned on by your after market radio. The car stereo amp trigger wire has to be wired up to turn on your factory amp to output audio from your car speakers. Double check that your 2003 Chevrolet Silverado amplifier turn on wire is connected. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2003 Chevrolet Silverado stereo installation.

Jaime, run a primary wire from the back of your radio to your steering column and use the orange wire in the ignition switch harness. This orange wire will provide a switched power source for your 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 stereo. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 stereo installation.

I have a 2003 Silverado which is going to receive an in dash DVD. I’ve installed radios all my life and I’m a little bothered that GM is now requiring a $100 wiring harness. I have put a harness on and would really be appreciative if someone knew what I can do to by pass this issue. I have heard it has been done. Thanks for any suggestions. Justin

Hi, I have a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado c1500 series and I am installing a new cd player. I cut the original wires and blew some fuses. Now after reconnecting and replacing the fuses for the radio I am still unable to even get the original radio working. Is there any way I can fix the problem on my own? Should I just take it to a professional? Thank you

Rocko, the easiest way to turn off your radio when you can’t do it manually, would be to pull the radio fuse. Look in your fuse box or look in your manual for a fuse box diagram and remove the fuse that provides power to your radio. Hope this helps. Good luck.
