When you’re looking for furniture deals, Costco and Ikea are good options. Granted, Ikea has a wider selection of furniture items than Costco, but that doesn’t mean that Costco won’t have what you’re looking for at a great price.
Also, keep in mind that quality furniture doesn’t have to cost less to be a better deal. Ultimately, when deciding to buy any piece of furniture, it’s important to consider a variety of factors, including comfort, style, durability and, last but not least, overall cost.

Pushback Recliners
A Costco Wessen push back recliner with 100% polyester fabric and pocket coil seat cushion is priced at $479.99 but may be available in the warehouse at a lower non-delivered price. This recliner comes with individually wrapped pocketed coils surrounded by a high density foam, which will retain its shape and cushion over time. The reclining mechanism also offers a tension adjuster that allows it to move easily from an upright position to a reclined sleeping position.
The Ikea Muren recliner, priced at $479.00, is 100% polyester fabric as well but is made from recycled materials. It features three adjustable positions and a built-in footstool.
While these two recliners are similar and closely matched in price, Costco’s Wessen recliner would seem the clear choice because it’s possibly available in the warehouse at a lower non-delivered price. One customer review from July 2024 stated that it’s available at Costco for $100 less than what it’s listed for online.
Coffee Tables
Ikea’s Stockholm coffee table, priced at $349.99, has a walnut veneer and a lower shelf for storage.
The Point Reyes 3-piece Occasional Table Set at Costco also has walnut veneers and lower storage shelves on all three pieces with the added advantage of adjustable levelers for $439.99.

In a side-by-side comparison, the single Ikea coffee table is cheaper than the Costco set. However, you get a coffee table and two end tables from Costco for just about $90 more, which makes it a better deal.
Dining Tables
The Ikea Skogsta dining table is made of real acacia wood and was tested for durability. It has the ability to seat up to eight people and costs $549.00.
Costco’s Corson Live Edge Table, priced at $299.97, can also seat up to eight people and is made of Mahogany solids and Trembesi veneers.
If your heart isn’t set on a solid wood table, like the Ikea Skogsta, the Costco Corson Live Edge table is worth considering because it offers the same look for around $150 less.
Dining Chairs
Costco’s Point Reyes dining chair offers two chairs with cushioned seats for $269.99.
The Ikea Ronninge is a similar-looking chair for $115, but the seats are not cushioned. If you bought two, you’d pay $230 before taxes.
Even though you can buy two Ikea chairs for less, you might spend more than $40 on seat cushions to achieve comparable comfort to Costco’s Point Reyes chairs. Even so, the fit and comfort of the cushions may not be as desirable.
Home Office Chair
The Lillian August Elyse Plush Velvet home office chair at Costco swivels and is available in three colors: pink, light blue or beige. It comes with a contoured back, a velvet cushioned seat and one-touch pneumatic height adjustment with tilting and locking — all for $229.99.
Ikea’s Tossberg/Malskar home office chair comes in eight neutral color combination options and offers an adjustable height and swivels for $284.99.
In comparison, the Costco swivel chair is not as expensive, comes in non-standard colors and is endorsed by the American Chiropractic Association, which makes it a better deal.
