Jazz Chisholm Jr. (OF - NYY)

Chisholm left Monday’s game with an elbow injury, and on Tuesday, he was placed on the IL with a UCL injury. The Yankees are not ruling surgery out for Jazz, and we’ll await further news. It does not sound good for Jazz, but I’ll wait a few more days before making Jazz a drop this Sunday.

River Ryan (SP - LAD)

Ryan was placed on the IL with a forearm injury. On Tuesday, the Dodgers announced that Ryan will undergo Tommy John Surgery. We hope to see him back in 2026.

Taijuan Walker (SP - PHI)

Walker was activated from the IL on Tuesday. He made the start and threw four innings with three earned runs and five strikeouts. Yunior Marte was sent back to AAA.

Junior Caminero (3B - TB)

Caminero was recalled from AAA. He was in the lineup, hitting 5th, and went 1-4 with three strikeouts. Curtis Mead was sent back to AAA.

Joe Boyle (SP - OAK)

Boyle was recalled from AAA to make the start on Tuesday. Since the start of July, Boyle made five starts at AAA and allowed seven earned runs over 26.2 innings with 52 strikeouts and 13 walks. On Tuesday night, Boyle threw four innings, allowing four earned runs with three walks and six strikeouts. Boyle should get some run in the starting rotation, with Ross Stripling moving to the bullpen and Kyle Muller getting DFA’d.

Andres Chapparo (3B - WAS)

Chapparo was promoted from AAA on Tuesday, while Harold Ramirez was DFA’d. Chapparo went 3-4 with three doubles, two runs and an RBI. At AAA this year, between the DBacks and Nats, Chapparo hit .328 with 23 home runs over 105 games. He could be an interesting CI option this weekend in FAAB.

Kerry Carpenter (OF - DET)

Carpenter was activated from the 60-day IL on Tuesday, while Ryan Vilade was sent to AAA. Carpenter went 3-5 with two home runs, two runs, and three RBI.

Riley Greene (OF - DET)

The Tigers' outfield may get even stronger soon. Greene is set to begin a rehab assignment on Thursday, meaning a return may happen a few days later.

Zebby Matthews (SP - MIN)

Matthews was promoted on Tuesday to make his MLB debut versus the Royals. Matthews threw five innings while allowing two earned runs with five strikeouts and no walks. Over 17 starts between High-A, Double-A, and Triple-A, Matthews had a 2.60 ERA with 114 strikeouts over 97 innings pitched with only SEVEN walks. Matthews will hopefully get a few more starts with Joe Ryan out for a while and Chris Paddack still on the IL.

Matthew Boyd (SP - CLE)

Boyd was activated from the IL on Tuesday, while Peter Strzelecki was sent to AAA. Boyd looked good, pitching 5.1 innings, allowing a run with six strikeouts and no walks.

Kenny Rosenberg (SP - LAA)

Rosenberg was recalled from AAA, while Davis Daniel returned to AAA.

Jacob Wilson (SS - OAK)

Wilson is expected to begin a rehab assignment this weekend. He made his MLB debut with the A’s but was quickly sent to the IL with a hamstring injury.

Ketel Marte (2B - ARI)

Marte was out of Tuesday’s lineup due to an ankle injury. After more testing, it was revealed that Marte has a low-grade ankle sprain, and for now, he’s day-to-day.

Christian Walker (1B - ARI)

Walker was cleared for baseball activities. He’ll start ramping up, and the DBacks are debating whether to assign him a rehab assignment. When Walker returns, it will be interesting to see what happens with Josh Bell, who has been productive since he was acquired from the Marlins.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto (SP - LAD)

Yamamoto threw a 40-pitch bullpen on Tuesday. He’ll join the Dodgers for live batting practice, and if all goes well, he could start a rehab assignment next week.

Byron Buxton (OF- MIN)

The MRI on Buxton’s hip revealed no structural damage, and he’s day-to-day.

Justin Verlander (SP - HOU)

Verlander threw 52 pitches in his last rehab start, and he’s scheduled for another rehab start on Thursday. Verlander will likely need one more rehab start before rejoining the Astros.

J.D. Martinez (UTIL - NYM)

JDM was removed from Tuesday’s game with a left elbow contusion. He was hit with a 100 mph fastball from Joe Boyle. JDM is currently day-to-day.

Reynaldo Lopez (SP - ATL)

Lopez allowed three runs over four innings in his rehab start on Tuesday. More importantly, Lopez threw 71 pitches, making it likely that Lopez will rejoin the Braves early next week.

Starling Marte (OF - NYM)

Marte went 1-4 in his rehab start on Tuesday. The Mets hope to get Marte back this weekend, which could reduce playing time for Tyrone Taylor and Jesse Winker.

Triston Casas (1B - BOS)

Casas went 2-4 with a home run in Tuesday’s rehab start. He’s played in nine games now and looks good. The expectation is that Casas will return to the Red Sox later this week after missing four months on the IL.
